The Visit

Director and Chief Instructor of Systema Headquarters, Toronto.

Vladimir Vasiliev

Vladimir Vasiliev founded Systema Headquarters Toronto in 1993 and has played a central role in bringing Systema to students around the world. For more than three decades, students and instructors from around the world have travelled to Toronto to train with him.

His teaching is known for its calmness, simplicity and depth. Students often come expecting martial arts techniques. They usually leave with something more important: a clearer understanding of breath, relaxation, movement, fear, tension and themselves.

Why This Seminar Matters

Not simply about learning new material.

Training with Vladimir is an opportunity to experience the principles of Systema directly from one of the teachers who shaped the modern international community.

For many students, one seminar can change the way they understand breath, relaxation, movement, fear, recovery and human behaviour under pressure. The work is simple. It is also deep. That is why students return to it for decades.

What you can expect.

The exact content will be determined by Vladimir during the seminar. His teaching responds to the people in the room. However, students can expect work connected to breathing and relaxation, removing unnecessary tension, natural movement, calmness under pressure, striking, partner work, health and recovery, practical self-defence and emotional control.

The seminar will be practical, physical and accessible. You do not need to be advanced to attend.

Who Should Attend

For students serious about the work.

Current Systema students

A chance to deepen your understanding of the work and train directly with one of the central teachers of the art.

Martial artists from other styles

An opportunity to experience a very different approach to movement, pressure, relaxation and practical skill.

Beginners with serious interest

You do not need years of experience. You do need willingness to listen, move, breathe and learn.

Instructors and long-term practitioners

For those already teaching or training seriously, this seminar offers direct contact with the core principles of Systema as taught at Systema Headquarters Toronto.
